Social Enterprise

Providing opportunities for work experience and training while at the same time generating valuable income for charity.

Many of the individuals Transform support indicate a desire to return to work but lack opportunity to do so. A decision was taken to explore and develop enterprise activity with the intention of creating opportunities of work experience in order to help individuals become more employable. Building on the work of the furniture project a shop was opened to sell low cost quality reuse furniture to the general public. Transform now operates two retail units one in Dundee and the other in Perth.

Catering was also an area where the charity was already involved in that it provides meals in its largest residentional operation. A small outside catering business has been developed specialising in quality buffets for business and social gatherings. A contract with a local nursery also sees the business provide hot meals for the nursery children.
