Brewery Lane provides temporary accommodation and support to single adults who are homeless. Support is on hand 24 hours a day and is focussed to supporting individuals to break the cycle of homelessness. The accommodation consists of 20 self contained studio apartments with its own living space, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom and one shared apartment.
Brewery Lane provides a trauma informed service, offering a degree of personalisation which takes into account the needs of the individual from first contact, through being housed and supported, to a successful move on into appropriate longer term accommodation.
Individuals are encouraged to work with the staff team and other agencies to seek specialist support to address some of the challenges that have impacted on their lives.
To access the accommodation an individual will have been assessed as homeless. Referrals can be made from any agency or from the individual themselves.
Unfortunately, we have no facilities to house dogs (or any other pets), although we can source temporary accommodation for pets with partner agencies.
Whilst there is no specific timescale, on average individuals stay at 10 Brewery Lane for between nine and twelve months. Length of stay will be determined by support needs and availability of appropriate move on accommodation.
Homeless accommodation is exempt from being a Scottish secure tenancy but only if the house is being let to the tenant expressly on a temporary basis. Despite this the organisation will work with individuals in a positive matter and only evict in exceptional circumstances.
