FareShare Tayside & Fife: Fighting Food Poverty and Reducing Waste Together
FareShare Tayside & Fife is a dedicated initiative committed to tackling food poverty and minimizing food waste across the region. We proudly support over 190 community projects throughout Dundee, Perth & Kinross, Fife, Clackmannanshire, and Angus by redistributing quality surplus food from local and national suppliers.
The food we redistribute is nutritious and good to eat. It reaches charities across the Tayside & Fife area, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters, and community cafes. We provide enough food on a monthly basis to create almost a 70,000 meals for vulnerable people.
As part of the national FareShare UK network—comprising 18 independent regional organisations—our impact extends well beyond Tayside & Fife. Together, we channel surplus food from across the entire food industry to nearly 9,500 frontline charities and community groups nationwide. This collaborative approach amplifies our reach, turning surplus into sustenance on a truly national scale.
Transparency and trust are at the heart of everything we do. Whether food comes from supermarket shelves or local producers, you can be confident it has a clear, traceable journey from source to community. We build a chain of trust connecting every step of the supply process.
At FareShare Tayside & Fife, combating food insecurity is more than a goal—it’s a daily commitment rooted in compassion and community support. Operating as the local FareShare UK regional centre, Transform Community Development plays a key role in securing a diverse, plentiful supply of food. We work closely with major supermarkets, local producers, and suppliers to incorporate more local surplus produce, nurturing both bodies and community connections.
All food we distribute complies fully with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations, ensuring we meet the highest standards of food safety and hygiene while prioritising nutritional value.
The fight against food insecurity is a collective effort—and we invite you to join us. Together, let’s transform surplus into sustenance and make sure no one in Tayside & Fife faces an empty plate.
