What we offer

At FareShare Tayside & Fife, our services extend beyond housing support, building a level of support that touches lives and builds a resilient community.

Diverting good food for local communities

Our core service revolves around the strategic redistribution of quality surplus food to over 150 community projects throughout Dundee, Perth & Kinross, Fife, Clackmannanshire and Angus.  Partnering with both local and national suppliers, we stand as the bridge between surplus and scarcity in Dundee, ensuring that no nutritious food goes to waste.  By addressing both food poverty and waste, we aim to create a more sustainable and compassionate food ecosystem, supporting communities across the region with their mission.

Uniting efforts, maximising impact

As part of FareShare UK's national network, comprising 18 independent organisations, our services reach beyond the boundaries of Tayside & Fife. Together, we form a powerful network, seamlessly channelling good-quality surplus food from the entire food industry to nearly 9,500 frontline charities and community groups. Our collaborative approach amplifies the impact, turning surplus into sustenance on a national scale.

Beyond the plate initiatives

Understanding that every community is unique, we take a tailored approach to address specific needs. Whether it's supporting school breakfast programs, bolstering lunch clubs for the elderly, or providing food to supported accommodation, our services adapt to the dynamics of each community, ensuring a meaningful and lasting impact.

From source to your plate

Have you ever wondered about the journey of the food on your plate? We take pride in making that journey fully traceable. Whether it's sourced from a supermarket shelf or a local producer, you can trust that the food you receive from FareShare Tayside & Fife has a clear and transparent path from its origin to your community. We're all about building a chain of trust that connects every aspect of the food supply.

How we help

The heart of our mission is tackling food insecurity head-on. At FareShare Tayside & Fife, our commitment to alleviating food poverty is not just a statement. But also, a daily action rooted in compassion and community support.  Transform Community Development, as the local FareShare UK regional centre, plays an important role in ensuring a diverse and plentiful supply of food.

We work closely with major supermarkets, local producers, suppliers, and distributors, striving to incorporate more local surplus produce into the mix. It's not just about filling stomachs, we also build connections with our local community through the food we share.

All produce complies fully with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations. This means not only do we prioritise your nutritional needs, but we also uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
