Build Like Burnham

Transform Community Development is proud to support the call for the Scottish Government to mirror the Prime Minister’s commitment by launching a similar programme in Scotland. Such an initiative would deliver significant benefits for communities across the country, helping to increase the supply of secure, affordable housing while also generating wider economic growth, creating jobs, and supporting long-term prosperity for Scotland.

"Build Like Burnham" is the message from 40 charities convened by Homeless Network Scotland, after the new Prime Minister pledged the biggest council house building programme in England since the Second World War.

Scotland needs to match that ambition where 125,000 households remain on waiting lists and without a settled home.
