Everyone Home Collective and CCPS Issue Position Paper: Toward a Fairer National Housing Agency
Transform Community Development, as part of the Everyone Home Collective, along the Coalition of Care & Support Providers in Scotland with have jointly issued the position paper "Toward a Fairer National Housing Agency". The recommended action plan highlights the opportunity available during the co-design process for More Homes Scotland to create a fairer, more inclusive housing system.
There are five recommendations within the paper:
- Build on the New Housing Support Duty
- Embed " Fairer Homes That Last " as a core aim
- Act as a keystone for joined for joined up support
- Leverage national scale and finance for integrated outcomes
- Establish a people-first accountability framework to reduce affordable housing need.
We hope by embracing these opportunities now, during the co-design phase, More Homes Scotland can pioneer housing as a catalyst for fairness, prevention and prosperity, delivering not just more homes, but a fairer more inclusive housing system that advances Scotland's vision for improved health, social justice and economic renewal.
The Cabinet Secretary for Housing is expected to provide further detail on the co-design phase of More Homes Scotland by the end of the month (March).
