FEANTSA Forum 2025

I'm just back from a fascinating few days, in the Greek capital, with colleagues from all across Europe and beyond. It was great to assess our work in challenging homelessness in the city against others, and while there are always learning that can be taken, it's clear that the work carried out by our team on a day-to-day basis is on par with the best practice across the continent.
There was a wide range of discussions and presentations, including a chilling insight from Margot Kushel MD, Director UCSF Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative & Action Research Center for Health Equity at University of California, San Francisco on homelessness in California. Over 400 delegates discussed a multitude of issues including the continued use of shelters, prioritising the homeless in social housing allocation, gender specific services, the rise of right populism and its effect on homeless and housing policy, and the use of real time data to develop services.
The connections made over the past few days from Finland, Portugal, Germany, Italy and Israel, will benefit the participants of all our services, and hopefully our experiences can support participants across Europe.
