High School of Dundee Social Inequalities Conference
We were delighted to be invited to the High School of Dundee Social Inequalities Conference today and would like to thank Karlene Douglas (High School of Dundee) in her work organising the event.
With colleagues from across the housing and social care sector we spoke with over 1,000 pupils from local schools about the factors which cause health inequality and to have and the causes of income and wealth inequality.
The event was headlined by two well-known social campaigners on inequality, Darren McGarvey and Chelsea Cameron and gave the pupils studying National 5 &Higher Modern Studies a detailed understanding of some of the key issues causing poverty and health inequality and challenge perceptions around the issues.
It wouldn't be a conference without challenges, and I would like to thank everyone for their forbearance, following my error in sending the wrong presentation! Despite this we are sure that we supported all the pupils in meeting their learning objectives.
