Housing First Europe Conference
30.10.2026 | Bryan Smith
Our CEO, Bryan Smith and Housing Support Manager, Catherine McLaren have spent much of the week in Rotterdam at Housing First Europe Hub's Conference.
We'd like to thank our Housing First Europe Hub team and the City of Rotterdam for hosting in an amazing city and the fantastic Massilo.
Lots of conversations and reflections with colleagues across Europe and beyond, which has sparked ideas, innovation and partnerships.
One professional and one personal view would be Matt Downie's (CEO, Crisis) keynote speech yesterday, which can be summarised in four points
- Are we prepared to stop doing what's not working?
- What's the big idea you've never had the courage to speak up about?
- Have you used your leadership role to rip something up and try something new?
- People who are homeless today shouldn't have to wait for us to get it right tomorrow.
On a personal level, Wednesday's conference mass cycle between two site visits. A hilarious, healthy and safety nightmare!!
