The organisation is thrilled to share that Luke Milne (left) and Connor Kerr (right) have successfully completed the Tayside Circular Economy Challenge. This initiative is designed to assist businesses in the Tayside area in discovering and implementing sustainable practices that not only enhance their profitability but also support their net zero goals.

Luke and Connor set out to find innovative ways to prevent previously used furniture from ending up in landfills. We often accumulate furniture that we can't utilise for various reasons, leading to disposal in landfill. To tackle this issue, Luke and Connor engaged with our stakeholders to gather insights and expectations, they mapped out the process surrounding hard-to-sell furniture and crafted a comprehensive proposal, thoroughly analysing alternatives and prototyping solutions along the way.

Yesterday, they showcased their findings to the Challenge leaders, highlighting the significant effort they've invested in this project. Their proposal includes a plan to collaborate with other voluntary agencies to clean, repair, and upcycle furniture, allowing these items to be reused in referrals or sold through our shop.

As the CEO, I am incredibly proud of what Luke and Connor have accomplished. In just six weeks, they have devised a solution to a complex problem, and they've already begun putting their plan into action.

Great job, guys! I look forward to updating you on the progress of this exciting initiative.
