Celebrating International Women's Day

Today is International Women's Day, where we at Transform Community Development celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while also advocating for gender equality. It's a day to reflect of the progress made, the challenges yet to be overcome, and the importance of continued efforts towards achieving gender parity.

Across the world, women are often at the forefront of the fight for social justice, and this is the same within the team at Transform Community Development. The majority of our staff team are women and as are an increasing number of those who use our services. Despite progress in recent decades, women still face systemic barriers and discrimination. Today serves as a platform to raise awareness about these issues and mobilise support for policies and initiatives that promote gender equity in areas such as housing, access to treatment and recovery services, education, employment, social and care, and representation in leadership roles.

By standing united, women can effect positive change and create a more inclusive and equitable world for themselves and future generations.
